Can you tint the whole windshield in Georgia?
Short answer: not legally, unless you qualify for a medical exemption. Georgia allows tint only on the top 6 inches of the windshield.
What the law says
As of October 2026, Georgia allows tint on only the top 6 inches of the windshield. Tinting the rest of the windshield is not allowed for most drivers. This comes from Georgia's HB 1161, effective July 1, 2026, and the rules can change, so confirm before you decide.
The medical exemption
Georgia has a medical exemption process through the state for drivers who have a qualifying condition. The exemption comes through the state, not from us, so check the state's current requirements and get it in hand before you book a full windshield.
Your legal options
The top 6 inch strip is the legal choice, and it cuts glare from the sun on the way to work. It is an add-on to a tint job.
A clear film, like a windshield protection film, is a different product. It is not a tint, and we price it separately on request.
What we do
We tell you what is legal for your car before we install. If you ask for a full windshield without an exemption, we will tell you it is not legal and offer the strip instead.
