Is ceramic tint worth it in Georgia?

If heat is your main problem, usually yes. If you mostly want privacy and the look, probably not. Here is how to tell.

What you are paying extra for

The main difference is infrared heat. Hitek's published figures, measured at a 5% shade, show about 10% infrared rejection for Classic Black (dyed), about 62% for Carbon IR and about 75% for Ceramic IR. All three block about 99% of UV.

Total solar energy rejection follows the same order: about 42% for Classic Black, 61% for Carbon IR and 65% for Ceramic IR. Lighter shades block less than these numbers, which are for the darkest option.

When ceramic is worth it

You park outside, sit in traffic, drive a lot in the summer, or carry kids or pets. The cabin heats more slowly and the A/C works less hard.

Georgia summers are hot and humid, so the extra heat rejection is something you feel, not just a number on a sheet.

When dyed or carbon is enough

If you park in a garage, drive mostly at night, or just want a darker look and privacy, dyed does that for the lowest price. Carbon is a good middle step if you want real heat help without paying for ceramic.

Whatever you pick, you still choose the shade, and Georgia limits how dark each window can be.

What it costs

Starting prices for a full car are $225 for dyed, $350 for carbon and $550 for ceramic. SUVs, trucks and vans cost more because there is more glass. Pick your exact make and model on our home page to see a price for your car.
